A man has been killed and his father wounded following a shooting incident in the city of Gori, central Georgia, on Monday, authorities have confirmed.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs said the attack had been preceded by an argument between the parties involved.

Officials said that a suspect, identified only as S.A., born in 1975, was arrested shortly after the shooting in a hot pursuit operation. He faces charges of attempted premeditated murder committed against two or more persons under aggravating circumstances – an offence punishable by up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment under Georgian law.
