Gov’t says Omicron peak lowers, removes, eases Covid regulations

The Georgian government says that the Omicron peak of coronavirus is trending towards lower and has removed or eased various regulations. 

Per the government decision: 

Starting March 1 citizens from 67 countries will be able to enter Georgia via the PCR test alone. 

A foreign citizen will enter Georgia if he is vaccinated or presents a negative PCR test document.  

Citizens of Georgia will also enter the country if they meet the two criteria, otherwise they will have to go through an eight-day self-isolation. 

The time for self-isolation has been reduced to five days. 

If a citizen of Georgia enters the country with a negative PCR test, he will not have to repeat the test within 72 hours.

The applications required for foreign citizens to enter the country are no longer needed.

The number of people allowed at one table in closed food facilities will increase up to 10, while the number allowed in open facilities will be 15. 

The restriction on the maximum number of guests has also been lifted. 

From March 1 quarantine spaces will be abolished. 

The obligation of thermal screening in shops and other facilities has also been removed. 

From March 4 clubs will be allowed to operate and will be able to use only 60% of the capacity of the area where the event will be held.From March 15 conferences, seminars and trainings will be allowed without any restrictions. 

An international match between Georgia and Russia will be held on February 27. 50 percent of spectators will be allowed to attend the event.
