Georgian fighter Ilia Topuria has claimed the UFC lightweight title, defeating Brazil’s Charles Oliveira with a stunning first-round knockout in a highly anticipated championship bout.

Topuria, already the former featherweight champion, made history by becoming the first Georgian athlete to win a UFC world title. The victory over Oliveira cements his place at the top of MMA's most competitive division.

This marks Topuria’s second major milestone in the UFC. In 2024, he captured the featherweight belt after defeating Australia’s Alexander Volkanovski in a dominant performance.
