Police in Georgia's Imereti region have arrested two individuals on charges related to the illegal purchase, possession and facilitation of the sale of an especially large quantity of narcotics, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Saturday.
The body added officers from the Imereti Police Department seized large quantities of methadone and Alpha-PVP that had allegedly been prepared for distribution during personal searches of the suspects.
Police also confiscated materials allegedly intended for packaging narcotic substances.
If convicted, the defendants face up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
