Officials say intense snowfall and heavy precipitation have caused temporary disruptions to urban infrastructure

Municipal services in western Georgia’s city of Kutaisi are continuing round-the-clock efforts to clear roads and streets of snow following heavy overnight snowfall.

According to the Kutaisi City Hall, employees of the municipal agency Special Services, working alongside other relevant authorities, began snow clearance operations early in the morning, using specialised equipment and manual labour across the city.

Officials say intense snowfall and heavy precipitation have caused temporary disruptions to urban infrastructure, but clearance works are being carried out progressively in all districts to restore normal traffic and access.

Kutaisi Mayor Davit Eremeishvili, Deputy Mayor Davit Nishniadze and other local officials visited several sites to monitor the ongoing operations and assess conditions on the ground.

Municipal authorities have urged residents to remain cautious as work continues and weather conditions remain challenging.
