A multinational command and staff exercise, NATO-Georgia Exercise 2025, is currently underway at the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC), as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Georgia’s interoperability with NATO forces, Georgia’s Defence Ministry said on Tuesday.
Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani, accompanied by the Commander of the Defence Forces, Major General Giorgi Matiashvili, reviewed the progress of the exercise during a visit to several training locations within the facility.
Colonel David Gagua, Commander of JTEC and Head of the Exercise, provided a comprehensive situational briefing at the Simulation, Communications and Information Systems Center. The briefing included an overview of the operational control structure, the intensity of the training drills, and the simulation technologies employed, the body said.
As part of the visit, Chikovani toured the headquarters of the First Infantry Brigade and the Special Operations Command Control Center, where he observed units managing simulated crisis response and military operations. The scenario-driven exercise focuses on coordinating command and control functions and synchronizing unit actions in a realistic operational environment.
The Minister also inspected military vehicles and simulation equipment displayed at JTEC’s assembly area. Officials said the training systems - spanning constructive, field, and virtual simulation tools - were designed to create an integrated and immersive environment for participating units.
The visit concluded with the presentation of commemorative plaques to Ministry of Defence leaders by Major General Zaza Chkhaidze, Deputy Commander of the Defence Forces, and Colonel Gagua, in recognition of their support for the successful implementation of the NATO-Georgia Exercise 2025.
