Defence Minister Reviews New Facilities and Upgrades at Military Hospital

Vice Prime Minister and Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani visited the Giorgi Abramishvili Military Hospital of Georgia’s Ministry of Defence, where he inspected a new outpatient building, the fully renovated Critical Care Department, the Surgery and Traumatology departments, and an upgraded operating theatre complex.

According to the ministry’s press service, hospital director Koba Shanava briefed the minister on completed, ongoing and planned projects.

The minister and the hospital’s management also discussed a large-scale, multi-year development plan aimed at modernising the medical facility’s technical capabilities and expanding its infrastructure.

The talks also focused on the introduction of innovative medical services described as new not only for Georgia but for the wider region. The ministry said the new services are expected to improve access to treatment for a range of medical conditions.

The hospital’s new building houses an outpatient and diagnostic department, allowing patients to access modern diagnostic examinations and specialist medical consultations in one location.

The ministry said further upgrades and new services will continue to be introduced to ensure patients receive comprehensive and high-quality medical care.
