Georgian Defence Minister expresses condolences to Turkish counterpart over military plane crash

Georgian Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani on Tuesday expressed his deep sorrow to his Turkish counterpart over the crash of a Turkish military aircraft near the Georgia-Azerbaijan border.

During the call, Chikovani offered sympathy to the families and loved ones of the victims, as well as to the Turkish Armed Forces and the people of Turkey.

The Turkish military aircraft crashed about five kilometers from Georgia’s border while flying from Azerbaijan to Turkey.

Turkey’s Ministry of National Defence said there were 20 military personnel on board the aircraft.
