Georgian Defence Minister participates in 33rd Ramstein format meeting in Brussels

Georgian Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani on Thursday took part in the 33rd meeting of the Ramstein format in Brussels during his visit to Belgium.

The meeting, held at NATO Headquarters, was chaired by UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healey and German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius.

Participants were addressed by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Ukraine’s Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. The session brought together defence ministers and senior officials from NATO member and partner countries.

Attendees reviewed the current situation in Ukraine and discussed the country’s military assistance needs.

The Ramstein format was established in April 2022 at the initiative of the United States. Since February 13, 2025, it has been coordinated jointly by the United Kingdom and Germany.
