In the middle of disturbances, as the aggressive crowd hurled Molotov cocktails and stones at our police, several MEPs came out saying that now was the time to change and topple the regime; it was and is their desire to drag Georgia into the war and make it fight this war together with Ukraine, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated.

According to the Head of Government, we Georgians must show enough reason and vigilance, steadfastness and carefulness to prevent against falling for even a single provocation.

“You asked me about the European Parliament’s resolution. MEPs should mind their own business. One hundred MEPs are implicated in a corruption-related scandal. Why are they teaching us what to do? I listened to a statement by one of the MEPs during the disturbances, when the confrontation between police and anarchists and their aggressive mob was in full swing—when they were hurling Molotov cocktails and stones at our police—several MEPs came out saying that now was the time to change and topple the regime. This is antidemocratic. I do not know who compared it to what. But I want to tell you with full responsibility that it was and is their desire to drag Georgia into the war and make it fight this war together with Ukraine. This is their main goal, my friends, and I want to address all of you. This is why we Georgians must show enough reason and vigilance, steadfastness and carefulness to prevent against falling for even a single provocation. Of course, it is not an overassessment. This is reality, friends. They want to drag Georgia into a second front,” Irakli Garibashvili said.
