Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday said it was important that communication had taken place with senior United States officials, as Georgia has a clear desire to renew its strategic partnership with Washington.

Speaking to journalists, the Prime Minister was asked about President Mikheil Kavelashvili’s meeting with US Vice President JD Vance and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

“For us, it is important that this communication took place. We have a very clear stated desire to renew the strategic partnership with the United States, and we want this partnership to be renewed from a clean slate and with a specific roadmap reflecting the interests and principles of both sides. We are patiently waiting for reciprocal steps in this direction,” Kobakhidze said.
