Georgian PM expresses solidarity with Azerbaijan in call with President after drone attack in Nakhchivan

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday held a phone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, during which the leaders discussed the recent drone attack in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan autonomous region.

The Georgian Government Administration said Kobakhidze expressed concern over the drone strike carried out in the region and conveyed Georgia’s solidarity with Azerbaijan following the incident. He also wished a speedy recovery to citizens injured in the attack.

During the conversation, the two leaders emphasised the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan, highlighting the importance of their close political ties.

They also underlined the need to preserve peace and stability in the South Caucasus region.
