Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has accused opposition figures of following instructions from what he described as their foreign patrons, claiming that such actions have undermined their political standing and contributed to growing internal divisions.
Responding to a question about recent developments within the opposition, Kobakhidze said the opposition alliance had lacked any significant prospects from the outset.
“We said from the very beginning that this alliance had little prospect of success. The main reason for these disagreements is the weakness that characterizes the entire radical opposition spectrum,” Kobakhidze said.
The Prime Minister went on to accuse opposition representatives of acting under foreign influence, arguing that their alleged dependence on external actors had ultimately damaged their own political positions.
“Representatives of foreign agents received such instructions from their patrons that they ended up destroying themselves. The internal confrontations we are now witnessing among these groups are a direct consequence of that,” he stated.
Kobakhidze portrayed the disagreements within the opposition as evidence of broader political weakness, suggesting that internal divisions were the result of decisions made under alleged external influence.
