Georgia’s privatisation revenues exceeded the government’s target by 24% in the first nine months of the year, with the state collecting more than 156 million lari ($58m), Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said.
Speaking at a government meeting, Kobakhidze said the privatisation plan had also been exceeded in 2025 and that the government had moved to eliminate the direct-sale practice for state property, with limited exceptions.
He said the decision was aimed at removing a potential source of corruption.
“We completely stopped the practice of transferring property through direct sales, except for a small number of justified cases,” Kobakhidze said.
The PM also highlighted several major investment projects, including the $6.5 billion Eagle Hills development, with construction expected to begin gradually next year.
Kobakhidze said the project would generate revenues for both the Georgian economy and the state budget. He noted that the joint company established for the project would provide the state with 33% of dividend income, in addition to tax revenues.
He also cited the $2 billion Trump Tower project as another major investment initiative and said there was “very strong interest” from investors in Georgia.
