Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has announced the creation of a State Minister for Regional Policy position within the Government, with Mamuka Mdinaradze appointed to the role.
Speaking at a briefing at the Government Administration, Kobakhidze said Mdinaradze will also continue to serve as Vice Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister said Mdinaradze previously played a key role as State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies, helping establish an effective system for coordinating law enforcement agencies.
Kobakhidze said the work carried out in recent months now makes it possible to ensure effective co-ordination among law enforcement bodies without maintaining a separate state ministerial post dedicated to that area.
