Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has met Turkey's Ambassador to Georgia Mustafa Turker Ari, with the two sides discussing the countries' strategic partnership and opportunities to deepen bilateral ties.

The meeting focused on joint regional projects and the importance of strengthening trade and economic relations between Georgia and Turkey, the government press office said on Thursday.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the South Caucasus, the administration said.

The two sides discussed opportunities for further cooperation as part of the strategic partnership between the neighbouring countries.
