Kobakhidze: Georgia sees real opportunity to build a more peaceful and interconnected South Caucasus

Georgia sees a genuine opportunity to make a fresh start in building a more peaceful and interconnected South Caucasus, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in his address to the General Debate of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Kobakhidze said the challenges facing Georgia underscored the importance of viewing national stability and success within the broader regional context.

He stressed that the future of the South Caucasus should not be determined by dividing lines drawn in the past.

“We consistently strive to act as an honest broker within regional initiatives, contributing to stronger cooperation and the pursuit of peaceful solutions.

“Today, we see a real opportunity to turn a new page and begin building a more peaceful and interconnected region, reflecting our shared aspiration to create a better future.

“This spirit of cooperation must also translate into tangible economic opportunities for the region,” Kobakhidze said.
