A senior member of the opposition United National Movement (UNM), Irakli Nadiradze, has claimed that Georgian billionaire founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, intends to remove Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and appoint a woman as the next prime minister.

Writing on social media, Nadiradze said
“poor Kobakhidze… if he knew his fate, he would have sympathised with himself. Bidzina has decided to dismiss him… the oligarch wants a woman as the next prime minister.”

He added that the ruling Georgian Dream party is in disarray and predicted that on 4 October, the “victorious Georgian people” will have the right to elect the prime minister and the government.
