Former Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze arrested

Former Georgian Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze has been arrested, the State Security Service announced at a briefing on Thursday.

The body said the detention was carried out on the basis of a court ruling.

“On charges of abuse of official power and money laundering, which involved obtaining particularly large amounts of income, former Defence Minister of Georgia Juansher Burchuladze has been arrested,” the State Security Service stated.
