Kaja Kallas said Georgia’s current leadership was steering the country away from an acceptable course

The European Union’s top foreign policy official has said the bloc supports the people of Georgia but not its government, warning that the country is heading in the wrong direction.

Speaking ahead of a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg, Kaja Kallas said Georgia’s current leadership was steering the country away from an acceptable course.

“We also discuss what is happening in Georgia. Our approach is very firm - we support the Georgian people, but not the Georgian government, which is taking the country in the wrong direction,” she said.
