Khatia Dekanoidze, one of the leaders of the opposition United National Movement party, said Georgia's international partners have consistently taken a "correct and realistic position" regarding the “repressive policies” of the ruling authorities, following the adoption of a draft resolution on Georgia by an OSCE Parliamentary Assembly committee.
Dekanoidze said it was important for efforts inside and outside the country to remain coordinated, arguing that domestic and international pressure should continue "in sync."
"Such resolutions are very important, but what is most important is that the balance between the struggle inside the country and abroad is maintained and that this resistance continues in a coordinated way," she said.
According to Dekanoidze, Georgia's international partners have maintained a "correct and realistic position" on ruling party founder Bidzina Ivanishvili's “repressive policies”, the disregard for the Georgian people and the strengthening of Russian, Iranian and Chinese influence.
Her comments came after the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions approved a draft resolution on Georgia.
