The death toll from Russian air strikes on Kyiv has risen to 13, including two children, with rescue operations still ongoing in the Ukrainian capital.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said psychologists are working at the scene alongside three canine search-and-rescue teams.

A total of 170 rescuers and 51 pieces of equipment have been deployed. Specialists continue clearance operations in the rubble while searching for people who may still be trapped under collapsed buildings.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the victims include a 15-year-old girl. He added that 57 people were injured.

According to Klitschko, 27 of the injured are currently being treated in Kyiv hospitals.

Kyiv has declared 15 May a day of mourning.
