Russian overnight attack on Kyiv kills two, injures four

Russia launched a combined overnight attack on Kyiv using drones and ballistic missiles, killing two people and injuring four others, Ukrainian authorities said.

According to rescue services, fires and damage were reported in four districts of the capital following Russian attacks from the evening of 29 September through the night of 30 September.

Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia used ballistic and cruise missiles, including Zircon/Oniks missiles launched from the Kursk region and Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles launched from Russia’s Voronezh and Bryansk regions.

The attack also involved 188 Shahed-type attack drones, including 86 jet-powered drones, as well as Gerbera and Parody drones.

Ukrainian air defence forces said they destroyed or suppressed 160 aerial targets, including five ballistic missiles and 155 Shahed, Gerbera and other drones.
