Ioseb Khakhaleishvili, the Mayor of Georgia’s western city of Kutaisi, has expressed his solidarity with Ukraine amid the ongoing Russian invasion of the country at the session of the 2022 UN forum of Mayors.
During his speech, Khakhaleishvili noted Kutaisi was ‘a sister city’ of Kharkiv – Ukraine’s northeast city.
“I’m the Mayor of the city of Kutaisi, from Georgia, which is a sister city of Kharkiv… I would like to support the announcement of the Mayor of Vilnius to make an announcement regarding the situation in Kharkiv. So, I would like to express our support once again to Kharkiv and the Ukrainian people. Slava Ukraini,” Khakhaleishvili said.
