Three detained in Rustavi over abduction, sexual assault of minor

The crimes carries penalties of up to 10 years in prison

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia announced on Monday that officers from the Rustavi City Police Department in Kvemo Kartli have arrested three individuals - K.K. (born 1996), S.K. (born 1992), and E.B. (born 1997) - on charges of abduction and rape committed by a premeditated group.
The ministry said the investigation found that K.K., together with S.K. and E.B., forced a 2006-born girl into a car in order to marry her, took her to Gardabani municipality, unlawfully restricted her freedom, and sexually assaulted her.
Authorities added that the suspects were arrested shortly after the crime, following investigative actions conducted at the scene.
The crimes carries penalties of up to 10 years in prison.
