Georgian judoka Bekauri wins gold at Abu Dhabi Grand Slam

Georgian judoka Lasha Bekauri (90 kg) has claimed the gold medal at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam in the United Arab Emirates.

The two-time Olympic champion defeated Moldovan Mihail Latisev in the final, marking Bekauri’s fourth Grand Slam gold medal in his career.

This victory represents Georgia’s second medal at the tournament, following Giorgi Sardalashvili’s bronze in the -60 kg category.

Later today, heavyweight Iraki Demetrashvili will compete in the bronze medal bout.
