Latvia has banned an additional 13 Georgian citizens from entering its territory in a significant diplomatic move. Baiba Braže, Latvia’s Foreign Minister, announced the decision on social media.

“I’ve included 13 Georgian citizens on Latvia’s persona non grata list, imposing a ban on their entry into Latvia,” Braže stated, referencing Section 61(2) of Latvia’s Immigration Law as the legal basis for the action.

While specific reasons for the sanctions were not disclosed in the announcement, such measures are typically reserved for individuals involved in activities deemed harmful to national security, public order, or international obligations.

This development comes amidst heightened tensions between Georgia and its European partners, as recent events have drawn criticism over human rights concerns and political instability.
