Lelo opposition party founder Mamuka Khazaradze, who was recently suspended from his MP status, has raised the initiative to ‘cope with existing geopolitical challenges.’

Khazaradze says that a ‘powerful platform’ should be created which will ensure the placement of the US bases on Georgian territory, a rapid signing of a free trade agreement with the US, and adoption of the lustration law to reveal the individuals spying for rival countries.

The ruling party MP Irakli Kadagishvili says that the initiative ‘is at least belated,” as two of the three initiatives, referring to the lustration law and the trade agreement, have been pushed forward and are now in progress under the Georgian Dream leadership.
