Khabeishvili was arrested on 11 September 2025

A court in Tbilisi has sentenced Levan Khabeishvili, one of the leaders of the opposition United National Movement, to two years and six months in prison.

Co-defendant Murtaz Zodelava was sentenced to nine months in prison. Zodelava is already serving a seven-year sentence in connection with the 4 October case, related to attempts to overthrow the government.

Khabeishvili was arrested on 11 September 2025 and charged under Article 339 of Georgia’s Criminal Code, which concerns promising or offering money to a public official in exchange for carrying out unlawful actions.
