An individual has been apprehended by the Georgian police on charges of throwing a dog from the 8th floor in capital Tbilisi, resulting in the death of the animal. The suspect now faces the possibility of a prison sentence of up to four years. 

The suspect has been charged for cruel treatment of an animal, the Prosecutor General Office said, and noted that the law prescribed a range of one to four years of imprisonment as the potential punishment for such actions.

The body has already addressed the court to send the detainee to pre-trial detention.
