Georgia will hold several high-level meetings - including talks with China’s Prime Minister - during a major visit to Shanghai led by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili said on Monday.
Kvrivishvili described the trip as “critically important,” highlighting that new bilateral agreements were expected to be signed to strengthen both trade and people-to-people relations between the two countries.
“Within the visit, there will be a number of high-ranking meetings, including with the Premier of the People’s Republic of China,” she said. “These new and important agreements will further solidify our trade and economic cooperation.”
Georgia has been granted the status of Guest of Honour at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) for the first time this year. More than 40 Georgian companies will join the delegation, showcasing domestic products and exploring new commercial opportunities in the Chinese market.
“It is extremely important for us to expand the export of Georgian products,” Kvrivishvili noted. “We will use this platform to ensure that even more Georgian goods enter China’s market.”
