Emergency responders have recovered the body of a driver whose vehicle plunged into the Mtkvari River following a road traffic collision on 2 June, ending a 14-day search operation.
According to Georgia's Emergency Management Service, firefighters and rescue teams located the body after conducting round-the-clock searches along the riverbanks in Tbilisi and Rustavi.
The agency said more than 100 firefighters and rescuers, including diving teams equipped with specialised equipment, took part in the operation each day.
The body has been recovered from the water and the relevant legal procedures are now under way, the service said.
