Deputy Chair of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has warned citizens of European Union countries that their governments have “entered into a war with Russia,” urging Europeans to remain vigilant amid escalating tensions between Moscow and the West.

In a post published on social media, Medvedev claimed EU authorities had unilaterally taken steps against Russia and suggested Europeans should expect growing instability.

“Citizens of EU countries, you should realise your authorities have unilaterally entered into a war with Russia. So be vigilant and do not be surprised by anything. The peaceful sleep is over,” Medvedev wrote.
