Emergency management personnel from Georgia’s Interior Ministry have rescued an injured man from a mountainside near the village of Khone in Dusheti Municipality.

The Public Safety Management Centre 112 received a report that a person had been injured on a mountain slope near the village and required urgent assistance.

A rescue operation was launched immediately after the alert was received, involving a special response unit from the Emergency Management Service as well as a helicopter from the Border Police.

Firefighters and rescuers evacuated the injured man, who was unable to move independently, from the difficult terrain and transported him to a medical facility.
