Melania Trump: we’ll continue working to safely return children to their families

US First Lady Melania Trump says efforts are continuing to reunite Ukrainian and Russian children with their families, following the return of five children to their homes.

According to the White House, this marks the fifth time Melania Trump has helped facilitate the return of Ukrainian and Russian children to their families.

In a statement, the First Lady said that while diplomacy and peace efforts remain essential, protecting children must take precedence over international disputes.

“Every reunion is a reminder that compassion, dignity, and family can transcend even the darkest of times: war,” the First Lady said.

She added that she and her representative will continue working with the governments of Russia and Ukraine to ensure that children are safely returned to their families and communities.
