The European Union has approved its budget for 2026, with European Parliament President Roberta Metsola saying the document addresses public concerns and advances key European priorities.

Metsola welcomed the agreement reached between the European Parliament and the Council of the EU, noting that the budget reflects the bloc’s strategic focus amid global uncertainty.

“This is a budget that responds to people’s concerns and advances Europe’s priorities. In a time of global instability, Europe must remain competitive, resilient and secure,” Metsola said in a post on X.
