Georgian Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze has met Adjara Government Chairman Zurab Pataradze and the region’s Health and Social Care Minister Nino Nizharadze to discuss infrastructure projects aimed at expanding access to healthcare services.
The talks covered plans to build a new primary healthcare centre and emergency medical centre in Batumi, according to the ministry’s press service.
Officials said the project would create a modern primary healthcare facility equipped with up-to-date technology and improve medical personnel’s ability to respond quickly and effectively.
The sides also discussed the construction of a new paediatric department at Batumi Republican Clinical Hospital. The project is nearing completion and is expected to expand access to paediatric services in the region.

He said the projects would improve access to high-quality medical care in the region and contribute to patient wellbeing.
The meeting also covered other healthcare and social protection programmes, prospects for their expansion and closer cooperation between the central and regional governments.
