Georgia’s Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze has met the World Health Organization’s representative in Georgia, João Breda, to discuss strengthening the country’s primary healthcare system.
Sarjveladze stressed the importance of improving access to healthcare, particularly in rural areas and regions outside major urban centres, his press office said on Friday.
The discussions focused on expanding the geographical coverage of primary healthcare services and ensuring that people can receive quality medical care as close to their homes as possible.
The two sides also discussed local healthcare needs and the application of international standards and best practices in developing Georgia’s primary healthcare system.
