Georgian Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze on Saturday met with Lesley Bearman Lahm, the Asian Development Bank's Country Director for Georgia, and the bank's international team to discuss ongoing cooperation and future joint healthcare projects.
The Ministry said the meeting focused on the Health Sector Enhancement Programme, implemented with ADB support, which aims to improve the quality of medical services in Georgia.
The programme has supported key reforms, including the launch of primary healthcare reform, the development of the 2025-2027 Human Resources Action Plan for primary healthcare, the preparation of legal documents for the implementation of electronic medical records at the primary healthcare level, and action plans addressing heatwave-related public health risks and climate change adaptation in the healthcare sector.
Sarjveladze described the Asian Development Bank as one of the Ministry's key partners and said the body was ready to further strengthen cooperation.
ADB representatives welcomed the reforms already implemented and underway in Georgia's healthcare system and expressed readiness to provide even greater support in the future.
