Georgia’s Service Agency has announced that all of its structural units will be closed from January 1 through January 4, 2026, inclusive.

According to the agency’s statement, several temporary arrangements will apply during this period:

  • Applicants whose 30th day for taking the first stage of the practical driving test (closed course) falls between January 1 and January 4, 2026, will be granted one additional opportunity to take the exam between January 5 and January 9.

  • For individuals who have reserved or stored vehicle license plates and whose reservation period expires during the closure dates, the deadline will be automatically extended until January 5.

  • Individuals whose vehicle customs clearance deadline falls between January 1 and January 4, 2026, will not be subject to penalties. Their new final clearance deadline will be January 5.

  • Persons who need to obtain official certificates (apostille or legalization) on January 1, 2, or 3 will be able to do so on January 5. Otherwise, certificate processing timelines will be calculated in accordance with legally established deadlines.

The Service Agency has advised citizens to plan accordingly and take note of the adjusted deadlines.
