More than 200 individuals, including minors and tourists, have been evacuated from Georgia’s monotonous Tusheti region in the past two days with two helicopters of the Georgian border police.

Evacuations mostly took place from Omalo and nearby villages of Tusheti after heavy rains and landslides caused serious problems to the region which is one of the most well-known tourism attractions in the county.

The Georgian Interior Ministry says that the individuals have been relocated in Telavi of eastern Kakheti region.
