Georgia’s Prime Minister has announced the launch of a new paid internship scheme across public institutions, set to begin on 1 September.
The three-month programme will open more than 3,000 internship positions in state bodies as well as in public and private legal entities operating within the public sector system, the Government press office said.
Applications will be accepted between 1 and 10 September through the government’s official website, www.hr.gov.ge.
Eligible applicants include Georgian citizens with full legal capacity who are proficient in the state language and are either: in their final year of a bachelor’s degree, enrolled in a master’s programme, or have completed one of these stages of higher education in the spring semester of 2024–2025.
Candidates will be assessed on academic performance, with a minimum threshold of 71 out of 100 points or a GPA of 2.7. Government bodies may also set additional requirements depending on the specific department or field.
The competition will run in two stages - application screening and interviews. Final selections will be made by commissions established by the heads of the respective public institutions. In cases where candidates are equally matched, preference will be given to those with stronger academic records.
Successful applicants will begin their internships on 1 October, running until 31 December 2025.
