Georgia’s national handball team awarded ₾1 million for qualifying for European Championship

The Georgian government has announced a monetary reward of 1 million GEL for the country’s national handball team following their qualification for the European Championship.

The official decree was signed by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

The Georgian national team secured their spot in the tournament for the second consecutive time after defeating Greece in a decisive match held today at the Tbilisi Arena.

Prime Minister Kobakhidze attended the match alongside the President and other government officials. He personally congratulated the team, expressed his gratitude, and wished them continued success.
