Georgian Gov’t awards ₾500,000 each to Olympic silver medallists in figure skating

The Georgian government has approved cash awards for members of the national Olympic team, coaches, medical staff and administrators for their participation and results at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina.

Under a government decree signed by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, the Ministry of Sport will oversee the distribution of the awards.

The largest payments will go to Georgia's figure skating pair, who finished second, with each receiving a 51,000 lari prize plus an additional 449,000 lari, for a total of 500,000 lari.

Members of the figure skating team that finished fourth in the team event will receive 6,800 lari plus an additional 50,000 lari, according to the government administration.

The head coach of Georgia's figure skating team will receive 71,400 lari.

Athletes participating in alpine skiing, including slalom and giant slalom, will receive an additional 50,000 lari.

The medical staff of the Georgian Olympic team will receive a combined 42,840 lari, while the team's administrative group will receive 28,560 lari.

The government administration said the awards were granted in recognition of both the team's Olympic results and participation.
