Opposition leader Gvaramia: Georgian Dream will be banned under next government

The only party that will be legitimately banned in Georgia is Georgian Dream, and this will happen under the next government, Nika Gvaramia, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, has said.

Gvaramia described the lawsuit seeking to ban five opposition political forces as a “historical document” showing how to betray one's homeland.

“If anything under the Georgian Constitution could constitute grounds for dissolving a political party and holding individuals accountable, it is the potential consequences that would follow if this lawsuit were upheld,” Gvaramia said.

He warned that accountability could also extend to the judges handling the case.

“Let no one say they do not know what they are doing,” he added.
