Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed gratitude to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze for his personal support of the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as the two countries “work to develop economic relations with Georgia’s assistance and facilitation.”

Pashinyan made the remarks during a joint press briefing with Kobakhidze following the 15th session of the Armenia-Georgia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Tbilisi on Wednesday.

“The fact that this is the 15th session shows that our relationship is developing. A key point on today’s agenda was achieving even stronger economic results. We discussed bilateral, regional, and international issues, identifying areas with the greatest potential for cooperation. I want to thank Prime Minister Kobakhidze once again for consistently supporting the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Today, Armenia and Azerbaijan are shaping economic relations and connections with the help and facilitation of Georgia. This is truly commendable, and I sincerely thank him for this valuable contribution,” Pashinyan said.

The Armenian Prime Minister also stressed the deepening economic ties between the two countries, rooted in a longstanding tradition.

“It is well known that Georgia has always been, and continues to be, one of the most attractive destinations for Armenian tourists. At the same time, the number of Georgian visitors to Armenia is increasing. This positive trend reflects our active political friendship and cooperation across culture, sports, economy, education, and science, strengthening people-to-people ties between our nations,” Pashinyan added.
