The de facto president of Russian-occupied Abkhazia, Badra Gunba, convened a "Security Council meeting" following claims that several Ukrainian drones violated the region’s airspace.
According to Gunba, the alleged drone activity was linked to a recent Ukrainian strike on Russian territory near the so-called "Abkhazian state border."
During the meeting, Gunba instructed the region’s de facto defense ministry and security service to strengthen cooperation with Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) in order to "prevent similar incidents in the future."
The claims have not been independently verified. Abkhazia remains internationally recognized as part of Georgia, though it has been under Russian military occupation since the 2008 war.
