The removal of the current Georgian Dream (GD) authorities and Ivanishvili [referring to the founder of the GD Bidzina Ivanishvili, dubbed as oligarch and the actual ruler of the country by the opposition] and early elections are the only way out to save Georgia’s European future, European Georgia chair Giga Bokeria said on Thursday.
He called on the opposition to join forces and encourage the public to take to the streets.
Bokeria suggested that Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili’s speech in Parliament on Wednesday, “which was disgusting and targeted against Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration,” aimed to display the “weakness of the opposition.”
He stated that if the opposition managed to act together and organize large-scale rallies, they would force the authorities to step back.
Bokeria said that any effective talks with the current government would be possible only after they would be up against the wall.
