Opposition-minded Mtavari Arkhi has been fined 111,000 GEL by the State Regulatory Commission for releasing ads which depicted the images of the ruling Georgian Dream party members, with the images later transferring into the portrait of Russian president Vladimir Putin.

The civic movement Shame (Sirtskhvilia) stood behind the ads.

The Regulatory Commission also fined the channel for other ads with discriminatory content.

The channel is headed by former United National Movement official Nika Gvaramia, who is one of lawyers of arrested former president Mikheil Saakashvili.
