The leader of the party Girchi, Iago Khvichia, on Friday expressed irony regarding the notion of China being portrayed as the future path for Georgia b the current Georgian Dream authorities.

“They tell the Georgian people, ‘Forward, with dignity to China!’ The political component, suggesting China as the future direction for Georgia, is a bit ironic for me,” Khvichia stated.

He highlighted two main risks associated with this message. “Firstly, the Georgian people are being told to move forward with dignity towards China. Secondly, there is a risk that the Georgian people might mock this message and act accordingly, especially during the elections.”

Regarding the potential for Chinese investment in Georgia, Khvichia noted, “I have no objections to the Chinese coming to Georgia and building something, like a port. However, the political implication of China being the future path for Georgia is what I find ironic.”
